Project Brief
In this project, teams worked together to create a cohesive visual brand language and identity for a line of hand tools. Each student designed an original tool that fits within the established brand and contributes to a unified product collection. The tool must serve a clear and functional purpose in supporting a specific hobby chosen by the group. Final outcomes reflect both individual creativity and overall brand consistency. Our chosen hobby was Nail Art.
Developing the
Visual Brand Language
Working as a group, we decided we wanted our form to be wavy and flowing. This is a product we would sell as a higher quality yet affordable DIY kit, so we chose the french word for “studio” as our brand’s name, Atelier.
Performing Research, Making Models, & Testing
Having never painted my nails before, I took the opportunity to try. It was a difficult task because my hands kept shaking. From that point, I set out to create a tool that could help stabilize the user's hand while using nail art tools.
